AvantLink

We’re excited to announce the launch of the RideGear.com Affiliate program on AvantLink! This is one of several high profile programs (Internet Retailer Top 300) going live in the coming days on our network. If you have a site about motorcycles, or a relevant motorcycle category, check this one out. Over 100,000 products (gear, parts, accessories and apparel), they offer free shipping on orders over $49, and they ship internationally. Oh, and they have Snowmobile apparel as well. From our blog post announcing the RideGear Affiliate program launch:

We’re excited to have RideGear.com on AvantLink! We’ve been working with the Schaaf Consulting team for quite some time already through the Moosejaw Affiliate program, so we’re psyched that they will be representing yet another Internet Retailer Top 300 program through RideGear. Your direct contact for this program will be “Manager Extraordinaire” Bryan Rhodes…

  1. Jason says:

You might be careful with Ridegear - They have a lot of bad press in all the forums about fullfillment and BBB complaints. I would suggest Dennis Kirk or Motorcycle Superstore.

  2. Gary M says:

Jason, Do you have specific examples of this bad press you can link up for us? I haven’t seen any bad press on RideGear.

BTW, here is the IP address and info for “Jason”: (IP: 68.116.35.254 , web3.motorcycle-superstore.com)

    Pretty lame..

  3. Brook Schaaf says:

Jason is a shill for MotorCycle Superstore? Good catch, Gary. We have not had any bad feedback about RideGear. Very bad form on “Jason’s” part.

  4. Chrome says:

You might want to call the Better Business Bureau in the area … 408-278-7400. They are all too acquainted with Ride Gear.

  5. Moonshine says:

Hey Brook - you should check yourself before you call someone a shill who tries to pass on a warning to you before you entangle yourself with these guys.

  6. B. R. says:

Yahoo shopping is full of recent problems w/ Ridegear.com, several complaints about missing items and incredibly slow service. Ditto price grabber and epinions. Maybe it’s a recent glitch, maybe they’ve vanished.

Personally, I have a pair of gloves on order since the middle of April 2008 (marked “in stock and ready”) and so far a week without a reply on their help desk email system. I ordered a jacket and gloves from another retailer and got the items in four days. Tomorrow I’ll be attempting again to cancel my order, if that fails I’m going to call my credit card company.

  7. Gary M says:

To bring this comment thread back on topic, which is RideGear’s Affiliate program, I’ll mention that we’re seeing an average order value from Affiliate sales of around $350, and conversion is good.
